    MIssion Bell 專輯贏得超乎想像的成功，但創作歌手的音樂路總是辛苦，堅持自己的創作風格還要求新求變，一手包辦詞曲編曲，使得每一張專輯都要花費大量時間精神製作。2013 年 Amos 推出嶄新專輯 Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song (唱片行翻譯為"悲傷之歌"，但我認為翻成"山河哀曲"較佳) ，表現依然搶眼，最高 Billboard 排行第16，且在民謠類專輯裡奪冠。本張專輯嘗試了多樣的歌路，收錄了一些實驗性的歌曲，因此並未像 Mission Bell 那般整張瀰漫著一致的氣氛。儘管 Mission Bell 已將緩緩說故事的高雅民謠、都會藍調發展到頂峰，難以突破，但本首曲子 Chill in the air 硬是再創高峰，曲調與歌聲滿是都會詩人氣息，描寫離婚的心碎，描寫回憶的美好，編曲、旋律、伴奏真是完美混合。搭配黑白的MV與古印體的歌詞字幕，往日歡快的回想是彩色的，但哀戚的記憶卻永遠黑白，甚至連那些歡樂都被抹上一層灰燼。他的嘶吼從至深發出，而這曲子走著走著，那些回憶跟著喚起，歌聲有如沉痛的呼喊。隨著旋律輕聲唱起 " And I'll do my best just to forget the dreams we've dreamt... " 的悲哀，還真的只有有故事的人才能體會。
